Easter Basket: 1 Year Old
I never imagined our Easter would be spent on “house arrest” during social distancing. But, due to Covid-19, that is how we are spending Easter this year! To keep things normal and a bit fun for our little guy, I am filling his Easter basket with some activities and a few treats. Here is what I ordered (and it’s all on Amazon or Target so you can order online)! Remy is turning one a few days before Easter, so his basket is geared towards a toddler.
Activities & Toys
Here are some activities and toys we are putting in Remy’s basket plus a few things I would put inside if he didn’t already have them! One thing about Easter (or any holiday) is that once you get something from a grandparent or whoever, you can just reuse it another year. Example: Last year Remy’s grandparents got him an Easter book, a bunny basket, and a bunny stuffed animal. You can bet those things are going back into his basket this year! He doesn’t remember and since they are seasonal, they’ve been stored away since last April…reuse what you have when you can!
Stuffed Animals
I am obsessed with Jellycat stuffed animals. Remy has a monkey and a bunny. If he didn’t already have a few, you can bet I’d be putting one of these in his basket! Here are some cute ideas from Jellycat.
Books
Of course, we’ve got to include some books in his basket! Remy loves to “read” books (we read, he watches and grabs at the pages). Here are some bunny-themed books.
Treats & Snacks
All the treats and snacks! Remy is super into eating haha so I decided to get a few Easter themed goodies that we can stick in his basket, but eat throughout the week. I am also planning to make some deviled eggs and Spring-themed Rice Krispie treats (adding Spring-colored sprinkles) for Easter weekend!
Easter Basket Ideas
I think all of these basket ideas are so great! I also think if you are short on time or money, you can just use any basket, bin, or bucket you have in the house! Heck, I even thought about using an Amazon box. The kids will not care. They’ll be more interested in what is inside. Oh, and we are forgetting about putting grass inside the baskets - that just seems like such a mess to me! So we are skipping it this year…
Whatever you decide to do this Easter, I hope you enjoy this time with your family and kiddos!
